La Albiceleste

July 19th Sunday 2026, 5:57 PM

If you'd told me ten years ago - I think it's twelve years now, 2014, July - that twelve years later I'd be watching the third World Cup final, I'd say, "Bro, again? Did we win it this time?"

What a ride. 2010, '14, '18 - then in '22, we were like, oh my god, this is getting out of hand. I'm like, God, please do it. And bam, bam. We delivered.

I remember at the end of that week, after the celebrations and the euphoria wore out, I sat down and just told myself, "This is it. This is it. This is it for me. Oh man, my watch is over."

And now I'm watching this in 2026. I said, just enjoy yourself. And the enjoyment started at first, and it cost me something serious. Like when you meet that girl - you just have fun, friends, go out, walk, take the dog out. Then the serious things start. It becomes something serious. Like, oh, now you have to - you're serious. You're something serious. That's what happened. You know, that's what happened.

I mean, the group stage - yeah, it was easy. Then came the Swiss. Oh, that was a lot. Then came the Pharaohs - instant 10x. This shit is serious.

This 2026, the watch is over, and no matter what happens in this final, it was the best. I already said the game was over, and this is just extra. And if this is our last time - it is our last time - with you, Monsieur, thank you.
